Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET)
If menstrual cycles are regular, transfer may be carried out in a natural cycle after ovulation or in an artificial cycle. Monitoring will be required until ovulation occurs. Embryos will then be thawed and replaced into the uterus. If there are ovulatory problems, ovarian stimulation or preparation of an artificial cycle may be required.

Freezing and thawing may cause damage to the embryos. Normally only about 60-70% of embryos are suitable for transfer after thawing.

Embryo freezing allows multiple transfers from a single treatment cycle thus enhancing the chance of pregnancy.
