Recognition

We attach great importance to the competency and skills of embryologists. To ensure the service quality, our Centre participated in various external quality assurance (EQA) programmes. In the United Kingdom National External Quality Assessment Service (UK NEQAS) programme, our team achieved excellent results. In 2022, one of our embryologists was awarded second place and the other one was awarded third place. Also, in 2016 and 2021, one of our embryologists was awarded third place.

Since 1969, UK NEQAS has been providing a comprehensive world-wide service that enables laboratories to fulfill quality goals and facilitate optimal patient care. Our Centre was the first IVF centre in Hong Kong to join UK NEQAS. It has been a great experience joining this EQA programme. It served as a wonderful tool for us to evaluate the accuracy of our testing, to assess staff competency and most importantly, to ensure the reliability of our existing laboratory protocols.

In 2022, UK NEQAS used the results inputted to compare with experts in other countries, the assessment results were gathered from 398 participants of 119 embryology labs and 635 participants of 267 andrology labs. Majority of the participants come from Europe and 4% are from Asia.
